The day the Europeans tried to take over Aotearoa
One sunny
early morning Tangaroa was in a nice deep sleep. Everyone was fine till
Tangaroa woke up.
As the
Europeans were traveling to Aotearoa their boat randomly started leaking. They
didn't know the boat was leaking so they carried on.
As soon
as Tangaroa woke up he was off to find some kai for his breakfast. He usually
eats sea weed for breakfast but there was none left because he had eaten it
all. He saw something getting closer and closer to land, he was very curious
about what was going on. Tangaroa swam a little closer to the ship to spy on
the people on the ship.
He saw a
whole lot of bags full of kaimoana.
Tangaroa
saw something leaking out of the ship. He soon realised that it was oil and was
going to kill all the animals in the sea. He got so mad he made the karekares
get bigger and bigger. Tawhirimatia saw what was going on so he rushed down to
help.
He tried
to calm him down but it made him more mad. The waves were so big it covered the
ship and all the ship was gone.
